Arsenal monitoring Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso
Arsenal have previously shopped in Serie A for a defender, signing Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna. Now, it is Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso who is attracting their attention.
In the past, the Italian has been linked with a move to Manchester City and Get Italian Football News was close to the coverage about 12 months ago.
Now, La Gazzetta dello Sportreport that Arsenal tried to sign the versatile wing-back in the summer. This is mainly because Mikel Arteta is believed to be a big fan of the Italy international, who has done quite well under Luciano Spalletti.
Now, he is back on the Gunners’ shortlist for the summer and a sale could be made by the Old Lady, if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Although they are in the top four right now, a failure to finish there would put a financial burden on them to make major sales. Cambiaso will be one of the candidates to depart, having improved a fair bit since joining from Bologna himself.
