Arkansas basketball only had one player selected in the first round of the 2026 NBA Draft.
Darius Acuff went to the Sacramento Kings with the No. 7 overall pick, but fellow freshman Meleek Thomas slipped out of the first round. He will likely hear his name called with one of the early picks during the second round on Wednesday, June 24.
Throughout recent months, Thomas was projected to be selected within the first 30 picks. However, recent mock drafts from Tankathon and The Athletic forecasted a slide into the second round.
Thomas averaged 15.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists during his only collegiate season. He shot 43.5% overall and 41.6% from 3-point range.
The 6-foot-5 guard became a permanent starter on Jan. 20 against Vanderbilt and went on to reach double-figure points in 15 of the final 18 games. He was the second-best scorer on an Arkansas team that reached the Sweet 16 and won the SEC Tournament title.
His shooting reached another level during the season's most-important stretch. Thomas shot an Arkansas record 48.7% (38-78) from 3-point range in SEC games.
Thomas declared for the NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility on April 13. After going through the combine and individual workouts, the Pittsburgh native announced his decision to forgo his sophomore season with the Razorbacks on May 28.
