Arkansas continues to reshape its defensive line through the transfer portal, landing University of Texas Permian Basin defensive lineman Frank Mulipola. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound defender is the second defensive line addition the Razorbacks have secured during the current 10-day portal window.

Consistent Performer with Versatile Skill Set

Mulipola appeared in all 12 games for UTPB in 2024, finishing third on the team with 51 total tackles. He recorded 8.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, and led the Falcons with seven quarterback hurries. His stat line also included two pass breakups and a blocked kick, reflecting a high-effort, high-impact presence on the field.

His ability to contribute in multiple phases of the game has positioned him as a valuable depth and rotational option for Arkansas heading into the 2025 season.

Choosing Arkansas for Development and Exposure

Originally from the Pacific Islands, Mulipola cited long-term opportunity and visibility as key reasons for his decision to transfer to Fayetteville.

“It was what I was looking for, a good opportunity from the island and a better chance at Arkansas to get drafted,” he said. “Looking forward to coming back and be a Razorback.”

The campus atmosphere and facilities also played a role in his commitment. Mulipola described his visit to Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium as an eye-opening experience.

“I haven’t seen a stadium like that. It was bigger than I was thinking. It made me think this is the best for me. It makes me feel at home.”

This is why Frank Mulipola is one of the best defensive ends in any level of college football.

Eyeing the Next Level

Mulipola said he followed the 2025 NFL Draft closely, particularly noting former Arkansas defensive lineman Landon Jackson’s selection by the Buffalo Bills in the third round.

“I feel like I could see myself on the stage,” he said.

At Arkansas, he will work under defensive line coach Deke Adams, whose coaching style and system appear to align with Mulipola’s goals.

“He’s given me some good advice how the game looks and how the formations will look. The coaches know how to help their players out.”

As Arkansas continues to retool its roster, Mulipola arrives with both on-field production and upward potential, positioning him as a name to watch this fall.
