Arizona guards Jaden Bradley and Brayden Burries led the shorthanded Wildcats out of a 10-point second-half deficit and into a 87-80 win over Baylor on Tuesday at Foster Pavilion.

Bradley scored 25 points on 8-for-17 shooting while Burries had 24 on 8-for-13 shooting. Bradley made 5 of 8 3-pointers while Burries hit 7 of 11 free throws, as Arizona drastically turned around nearly every phase of the game in the second half.

Playing again without starting forward Koa Peat because of a lower-leg injury and with wing Anthony Dell’Orso coming off an ankle sprain, the Wildcats struggled through a first half that they wound up trailing 41-34 at halftime. Burries was also coming off an illness that affected his production during UA's last two games.

The win moved Arizona to 26-2 overall and 13-2 in the Big 12, where they have a two-game lead in the loss column with three games left to play.

Baylor dropped to 14-14 overall and 4-11 in the Big 12.

The Wildcats held an 80-77 lead durig a timeout with 1:13 to go, and after Baylor’s Isaac Williams cut UA’s lead to two points by hitting the second of two free throws, Burries hit a 17-foot jumper after Ivan Kharcheknov rebounded a Bradley missed 3-pointer.

That gave UA an 82-78 lead with 27 seconds left and Williams missed the front end of a one-and-one with 22 seconds left, and the Bears fouled Burries, who hit two free throws with 17.6 seconds left to put UA ahead 84-78.

Baylor led 41-34 at halftime and went ahead by 10 when Tounde Yessoufou hit a 3-pointer 16 seconds into the second half. But Arizona went on a 14-2 run early in the second half to take a 48-46 lead with 15:09 to go.

The relatively quiet crowd at Foster Pavilion picked up energy at that point, with the game mostly staying within one possession over the rest of the game.

Baylor pulled within 78-77 entering the final two minutes when Cameron Carr blocked a shot from Dell’Orso and raced in for a layup but the Wildcats pulled back ahead 80-77 when Burries assisted Motiejus Krivas on an inside score.

In the first half, while Bradley poured in 13-first half points and Brayden Burries added another 10, the Arizona Wildcats trailed Baylor 41-34 at halftime.

Arizona allowed Baylor to shoot 53.6% and was outrebounded 19-14 by the Bears. Baylor also scored 14 points off six UA turnovers and took five more free throws, scoring three more points at the line.

Peat and Dell’Orso were both listed as “game-time decisions” in UA’s official Big 12 availability report but Peat went through only limited pregame warmups. Dell’Orso returned to his usual key reserve role after spending most of his waking time since Arizona’s win at Houston on Saturday rehabilitating an ankle sprain and foot muscle sprain that he injured late in that game.

Dell’Orso was 1 for 4 in the half, with three points on 1 for 3 3-point shooting. Meanwhile, another player who has filled a void for Arizona during its recent adversity streak, wing Ivan Kharchenkov, had only two points on 1 for 5 shooting.

Cameron Carr led Baylor with 11 points, twice burning Arizona on back-door cuts late in the half while the Bears took leads of up to eight points.

Former Oregon State forward Michael Rataj also put back a shot that Arizona’s Tobe Awaka blocked with 4:25 left, giving the Bears a 36-28 lead.
