Arizona State's Kenny Dillingham has experienced the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl welcome before, in 2014 as an assistant with the Sun Devils when they played Duke on New Year's Eve, but for him, the famed Sun Bowl arrival event hasn't gotten old.
The Sun Devils landed Saturday afternoon, Dec. 27, at Atlantic Aviation at the El Paso International Airport, where they were greeted by Folklorico dancers, a mariachi band and the Sun Bowl committee, which included Arizona State alum John Folmer, the football committee chairman.

The Sun Bowl Court, which serves as an ambassador for the game, was also introduced and two of the princesses drew playful boos after revealing they were Texas Tech students (the 12-1 Red Raiders, who are in the playoffs, lost to Arizona State in the regular season).
"I'm fired up to be here, an unbelievable welcome, our guys are excited, you could see the energy. We're glad to be hosted by an unbelievable host crew led by a Sun Devil, which is awesome; it should be a great couple of days.
"I remembered this being an unbelievable hosted event so I'm excited to be back."
Also greeting the team at the airport was their newest teammate, Jake Fette, the Del Valle alum who will enroll at Arizona State in January and will practice with the team as a quarterback starting Sunday, Dec. 28, at Eastwood High School.

Fette, a four-star recruit who committed to Arizona State before last season and stayed with that commitment for a year and a half, posed for quite a few pictures before Arizona State landed.
"It's super exciting. We were joking with him, what were the odds when you committed to Arizona State a year and a half ago that your first practice would be in your home city? What are the odds that we would come to you for your first practice as a Sun Devil, that it would be in El Paso at home? That's a pretty special moment for him and his family."
The moment Arizona State landed was also special, as it always is at the Sun Bowl.
