The Arizona Board of Regents formally approved the 5-year extension for Brent Brennan on Thursday, a deal through 2030 that will pay him $4.7 million per season.

But Brennan won’t be the only UA football coach making seven figures in 2026. Both offensive coordinator Seth Doege and defensive coordinator Danny Gonzales will earn $1.1 million next season, according to a public records request.

Doege and Gonzales, both of whom were extended through the 2028 season, will each average $1.35 million over their new contracts. They’ll get $1.1 million in 2026 and 2027, jumping to $1.6 million in 2028 and $1.7 million in 2028.

The increases for Doege and Gonzales are part of an overall bump for Arizona’s assistant coaches that was part of the Brennan extension. Arizona is allocating at least $6 million per season for assistants, up from $4.25 million in Brennan’s initial deal signed in 2024, with Doege earning $750,000 and Gonzales $600,000 last season.

In his first season running the offense, Doege led the Wildcats to 31.5 points per game, up nearly 10 from the year before, and quarterback Noah Fifita set the school record for TD passes with 29. Gonzales, who had been linebackers coach and special teams coordinator before taking over the defense, transformed the UA defense into one of the best in the country. The Wildcats allowed 19.3 points per game and were Top 20 nationally in total defense (19th), passing defense (7th) and interceptions (2nd) while leading FBS in opponent QB rating (97.21) and turnover margin (+1.38/game).
