The Arizona Cardinals have some final pre-draft visits with NFL draft player prospects. It is the last week they can have their official top-30 visits. Another potential first-round pick for them with the 16th picks in the draft is scheduled.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, former Ohio State offensive tackle Josh Simmons was scheduled to visit with the New Orleans Saints, who hold the ninth pick in the draft, on Monday and is set to visit the Cardinals on Tuesday.
Simmons has a natural connection to the Cardinals, as his offensive line coach at Ohio State was Justin Frye, now the offensive line coach for the Cardinals.
He is a gifted tackle at 6-foot-5 and 317 pounds with 33-inch arms. He began his collegiate career at San Diego State, redshirting in 2021 and starting at right tackle in 2022 before transferring to Ohio State. He became the Buckeye's starting left tackle in 2023, replacing Paris Johnson when he was drafted by the Cardinals. He struggled with penalties but was fantastic in 2024 before he missed the final 10 games of the season with a torn patellar tendon.
His visit with the Cardinals will be important because in those meetings teams can perform medical evaluations. They will be able to see where his knee in terms of health.
Of the players reported as top-30 visits for the Cardinals, very few have been offensive players. He is the only first-round offensive prospect that we know of.
