The Arizona Cardinals announced a singular roster move on Thursday, and it completed their practice squad. They signed quarterback Jeff Driskell to the practice squad.
Driskell is 32 years old and has been in the league since 2016. He actually spent time with the Cardinals in 2023 on the practice squad for the first half of the season while Kyler Murray was recovering from his torn ACL.
He is a seven-year NFL veteran who has played in 25 games (12 starts) with Washington (2024), Cleveland (2023), Houston (2021-22), Denver (2020), Detroit (2019) and Cincinnati (2018). In his career, he has completed 229-of-391 pass attempts for 2,394 yards and 16 TDs. He has also rushed for 417 yards and three TDs on 80 carries and has two receptions for 10 yards. Driskel was originally drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round (No. 207 overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Louisiana Tech.
He is the third quarterback for practice purposes now, behind Jacoby Brissett and Kedon Slovis. Kyler Murray was placed on injured reserve this week. They released offensive lineman Nick Leverett from the practice squad on Wednesday, creating a spot for Driskell.
