The Arizona Cardinals are doing as badly as they could be. They are now 3-7 after losing 41-22 at home on Sunday to the San Francisco 49ers. They have lost seven of their last eight games. They have allowed over 40 points in their last two games, getting blown out by 19 or more points by NFC West rivals. They are 0-4 in division games.

Many are wondering whether head coach Jonathan Gannon will survive this season in terms of his job.

He isn't worrying about any particular "hot seat."

When asked about the topic, he was clear.

“(That’s) not a controllable for me," he said. "I didn't hire myself. I'm not going to fire myself. Seriously, now I know it comes up. That's the business we're in. If you don't want to be in that business – we laugh, we joke – go work somewhere else. I'm going to control the controllables for myself. I come to work, do the best job that I can and try to get our team in position to win a game.”

Gannon looks like a man who is weighed down by the lack of success this season. His team has been ravaged by injuries. Even still, he is very positive. He said on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM that "1000% times 10" he has been given everything to succeed by ownership. He said owner Michel Bidwill has "been fantastic," calling his situation his "dream job with our owner and our management."

Gannon has one year plus a team option remaining on his contract.

Can he keep his job if things don't turn around? He probably doesn't look at it that way. He sees the team finishing strongly. His message to the fans is, "Stick with us. We’ll get it turned around.”
