It took more than a year, but Arizona has completed a Big 12 series without earning a win.

The Wildcats were walked off 3-2 in 13 innings at UCF on Sunday afternoon. It’s the first time Arizona (9-18, 2-7 Big 12) has been swept since joining the conference last season.

The Knights won it on a 2-out single off Collin McKinney, who came in after Garrett Hicks threw 4.1 innings of scoreless relief. Hicks stranded the go-ahead run at 3rd in the 8th after taking over for UA starter Luc Fladda, who allowed two runs in 7.2 innings.

Arizona got its two runs in the top of the 8th on a sacrifice fly by Mathis Meurant and a wild pitch that scored Tyler Russell. The Wildcats managed just three hits for the second game in a row.

The next five games are at Hi Corbett Field, starting with a Tuesday nonconference matchup against West Virginia. The Wildcats then host ASU for three beginning Thursday night.
