I’ve read this article three times and have yet to see a good reason why to do this. The Eagles situation isn’t the right comparison either. Foles was clearly the backup and signed to be the backup. He knew his role and only took over because of injury.

I guess the author is saying make Rosen to backup and if Murray gets injured Cardinals will have their own Foles?

So what trade value does the one who doesn't get the starting job have? Rosen would have less value than he does now. If it is Murray we would have busted with the first overall pick and would then be trying to move him.

The vikings basically did this a couple years back with a collection of mediocre QBs and still got a first rounder for Bradford once an injury happened.

There’s a reason we are hanging on to some cap space. We’ll have the Rosen cap hit after the trade.

The EAGLES traded Bradford for a first-rounder coming off a (relatively) good season when they had a rookie #1 pick at the position in Carson Wentz.

I can almost guarantee Rosen is in on whatever the Cards decision is, at some level. He's been fairly quiet...and so has his agent. They must know, with almost certainty that he's staying as QB1, or there is a plan to trade him to a QB needy team...and they are trusting the process. If he were as immature, arrogant, aloof, etc, as some on this board have called him, he definitely would be showing his true colors by now....IMO.

I agree with this, which makes the premise of the article that much more unbelievable.

Keim may be stupid and cavalier but Michael Bidwill is not. Lot’s of needs on this roster
