The hype surrounding Texas quarterback Arch Manning has been sky-high since the first time he set foot on a football field. Perhaps it's understandable since he comes from a royal family of football, but his grandfather hasn't loved the pressure it has put on the Longhorns' passer.

Longtime NFL quarterback Archie Manning spoke with Noah Gross of KXAN about the supreme expectations people had and still have for Arch.

"I was kind of disappointed in a lot of, just a lot of people," Archie Manning said. “The whole thing. They kind of crowned Arch before he ever played. And I just didn’t think that was fair. Yeah, it was a little tough start, played a great team, and anyway.

High praise for the way Arch battled through the 2025 season.

Despite the adversity Arch faced, his grandfather has been impressed with the way he's handled it.

"But I’ve never been more proud of anybody in my life with the way Arch battled through what he had to go through last year, and the way he played, you know, the last eight or nine games of the season," Archie Manning stated.

Texas will play the same great team Archie Manning alluded to again in 2026, as Ohio State will visit Texas on Sept. 12.
