It seems that every day in Arizona Cardinal Land is just another April Fool's Day joke (or nightmare.) Well, today is the actual April Fool's Day. So, what news headline would you suggest? Try one that will be picked up by social media as something that is real. LOL.

"AZ Cardinals trade future draft picks for QB Joe Burrows." Cards have put together a package of 3 future 1st round and 3 future 2nd round picks plus TE McBride in exchange for the Cincy QB.

I was actually thinking about posting this, but also add that the NFL approved trading draft picks 5 years out. The post would have said we traded five firsts

Back in the Dark Ages when I was in high school, I was on the student newspaper. For ‘Aprils Fool’s’ I published a lead article ‘Students travel to Disneyland for Spring Break.’ We took some photos of kids getting on their regular school bus and had interviews with ‘Mickey’ and ‘Donald’ about how much they enjoyed the all-expenses paid trip. The next day, the Board of Education and the Principal was flooded with parents/students calling in with complaints as to why their kid did not get to go on this dream trip.

The school principal called me in and said I was going to be expelled from school for the prank. I pointed out the bold large type headline at the top of the Page “April Fools Edition.” My salvation argument was that I shouldn’t be expelled because ignorant parents couldn’t read. The principal agreed----instead of being expelled he had me come into the office during study hall----he got an out to say the student responsible was disciplined for the prank. I got to flirt with the cute secretary for three days. No foolin'.

To be a good April Fool's prank, it has to be credible enough to be believed. Five firsts might be stretching the credibility test---of course, it is something the Cards might do. LOL.

With their first pick at #3 in the 2026, the Arizona Cardinals have selected RB Forest Gump from Alabama. GM MO stated that Gump has outstanding straight-ahead speed. "Ever since he took off those polio leg braces, he has outstanding running speed. We'll work to get some wiggle in his running style. He'll probably start off as our KR."
