I am a huge fan and really dying in a car accident at 38 in 1981. I love his songs "Cats in the Cradle" his only #1 song and "Taxi" among them.
Anybody a fan like me?!
Wow, this is so weird I just pulled up his song Cats In The Cradle on YouTube earlier today. It was like the first time I've ever done that.

A couple of months ago my buddy told me he found a 1943 silver penny (not actually silver but some alloy) in his dad’s stuff at their cabin in Yarnell. This was less than a week after my dad had randomly given me…. A 1943 silver penny. True story.

I'll remember Harry Chapin for the song "Taxi" as well.

Rest in Peace.

I dropped my youngest kid at NAU last august and listened to this song several times on the drive home, in addition to several similar songs. Wanted to process all those feelings and get through it.

Such an incredible song. And in a strange coincidence one of the next tv show episodes I watched was a Goldbergs episodes where this song was a major plot point.

His death is such a strange story. Still kind of a mystery what happened. So sad.

They said he had his license revoked and that he has had so many speeding tickets as he was a lousy driver in matter of fact, shouldn't had been driving at all any kind of car the day he was killed 7/16/1981.
