After the Los Angeles Lakers traded for Walker Kessler on Wednesday, one former NBA champion had an interesting reaction to the blockbuster deal.
Cuffs The Legend, a well-connected basketball personality and content creator as well as a Fox Sports radio and podcast co-host, shared his thoughts about the trade by Rob Pelinka and Washington Wizards big man Anthony Davis.
"Anthony Davis practically begged Rob Pelinka to get him a CENTER alongside him for YEARS… Rob didn’t budge," Cuffs posted. "AD got back doored.. Bron lowkey got back doored.. and NOW he wanna be a competent GM now that the duo that won you a championship is gone.. you can’t make this [expletive] up."
He ended the post with ab "LOL" punctuation and a a snake emoji, which caught the attention of Davis.
Davis sent five emojis of him crying laughing, which certainly revealed some details of how he felt about the transaction.
During his tenure with the Lakers, it was fairly obvious that Davis preferred to play power forward for the organization with a more traditional five like Kessler at the center.
Now that James and Davis are both gone, however, Pelinka was finally able to land the exact archetype that may have fit there perfectly while they were still there.
