Incredibly, the Carolina Panthers may be facing yet another injury here in the early goings of 2026 training camp.
As noted by multiple reporters, second-year tight end Mitchell Evans was carted away from the practice field on Tuesday morning. Per Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer, Evans was down on the ground for "a few minutes," having appeared to injure his left leg.
Evans was selected by the Panthers in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The Notre Dame product went on to start in 10 of his 17 regular-season appearances, amassing 19 receptions for 171 yards and two touchdowns.
Unfortunately for Carolina, the cart also came out last week for fellow second-year player and starting outside linebacker Nic Scourton. Scourton, during the very first session of training camp, tore his ACL and will be out for the entire 2026 campaign.
