Angel Reese steals spotlight with bold outfit before rough Dream outing originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Angel Reese continues proving she can dominate headlines before a game even starts. Before the Atlanta Dream faced the defending champion Las Vegas Aces on Sunday afternoon, Reese arrived at State Farm Arena wearing one of the most talked-about tunnel outfits of the young WNBA season.
The Dream star stepped into the arena wearing a striking black leather two-piece outfit accented with metal hook details, pairing the look with black heeled boots and dark sunglasses. Photos and videos of Reese’s entrance immediately spread across social media, with fans comparing the moment to a fashion runway appearance instead of a pregame arrival.
It did not take long for the reactions to pour in across X and Instagram. Some fans called Reese’s outfit “elite,” while others pointed to her growing influence as one of the WNBA’s biggest personalities both on and off the court. Reese has increasingly become one of the league’s most recognizable fashion figures, especially after expanding her profile beyond basketball over the last year.
The buzz surrounding Reese’s entrance also continued a trend that has followed her since college basketball: whether she is posting a double-double or simply walking into an arena, she consistently becomes part of the national conversation.
Angel Reese’s game against Aces did not match pregame hype
While Reese won the pregame spotlight, the game itself turned into a frustrating afternoon for Atlanta. The Aces escaped with an 85-84 victory, handing the Dream their first loss of the 2026 season. Reese finished with nine points, eight rebounds, and three assists while struggling offensively throughout the game. She shot just 1-for-8 from the field and committed eight turnovers during one of her toughest performances since arriving in Atlanta during the offseason.

The Dream leaned heavily on Allisha Gray, who scored 25 points to keep Atlanta close throughout the matchup. Meanwhile, the Aces received strong performances from A'ja Wilson and Chelsea Gray, who helped Las Vegas close out the narrow win late. Sunday marked a noticeable shift from Reese’s first two games with Atlanta. Entering the matchup, she had recorded double-doubles in both contests and quickly looked comfortable with her new team after being traded from the Chicago Sky.
That early momentum helped fuel excitement surrounding the Dream as one of the more intriguing teams in the WNBA entering 2026.
Angel Reese remains one of WNBA’s biggest draws
Even with the difficult performance, Reese once again showed why she remains one of the most discussed players in women’s basketball. Very few athletes in the league currently blend basketball, celebrity, fashion, and social media attention the way Reese does. Whether fans love her confidence or criticize the constant spotlight surrounding her, she consistently drives conversation.

Sunday became another example of that reality. For several hours, Reese’s pregame outfit completely dominated the online discussion surrounding the game. Then, after the final buzzer, attention quickly shifted toward her stat line and Atlanta’s first loss.
That combination of visibility and pressure is becoming normal for the WNBA’s biggest stars. And Reese continues to sit right in the center of it.
