LeBron James is joining the 76ers for what could be the final arc of his legendary NBA career, but the future Hall-of-Famer won't be living in Philadelphia.
According to multiple reports, James instead plans to reside in New York City and will make the roughly 100-mile commute south for games. Some reports indicate that James could use a helicopter to cut the trip down to just around 45 minutes.
A chopper isn't the only option, however. A shorter, albeit more traditional commute could be made via train, and that's exactly what Amtrak is trying to get him to do. The United States' national passenger railway company took to social media in an attempt to convince James to trade the rotors for the rails.
They even offered The King his pick of a seat on the train!
Though James hasn't commented publicly on his living plans after signing with the Sixers, it has been reported that he will be living in the Big Apple. It seems that decision was made for lifestyle reasons, and it aligns with longstanding rumors that he desired to live in New York City.
ESPN insider Brian Windhorst recently said that it's been a lifelong dream for James to live and play in New York City. Signing with Philadelphia could at least potentially satisfy half of that dream.
