I don't see why we couldn't fit both Schwartz/Mathis and Silatolu.

I slightly prefer Mathis, as I'm salivating at the idea of getting a true road grading line with DJ behind it.

Mathis, Silatolu, then Schwartz a distant third.

Mathis for this season, but guard/center has officially surpassed pass rush as the biggest priority in the draft.

Whoever accepts the cheapest deal. It's that simple really. We need to extend a bunch of our own players and have already invested big money into the left side. Keep drafting OL talent, and let them compete with veterans who have something to prove. That's our winning formula.

Let's not act as if losing Cooper creates a hole on our OL and we suddenly need to react. Since he hasn't been a starter we don't need to replace him in theory. We just need a new body to fill his roster spot. Losing Cooper really is about the same as losing Larsen this offseason. It wouldn't surprise me to see Larsen back as a versatile backup though.

Cooper couldn't win a starting job despite being given multiple chances and having the benefit of doubt as the 7th overall pick. It's more about bringing somebody in to compete with Watford at RG than replacing Cooper. All guys mentioned in this thread are better than Cooper, while being injury prone just like him.

+1

Still looking for that "body" for the spot tho.

I want Smith at tackle and the a CB. If the money's still there I'd take Mathis.

I would be very happy with Geoff Schwartz and Amini Silatolu in one year deals, as it gives you two OGs and one RT. I like that versatility. The issue with that is health. The other thought I have is I don't know how different Schwartz and Watford are in the Cardinals eyes. I think Schwartz is noticeably better than Watford, but availability counts.

The other thought is, we will draft OL, lets not get too invested in these free agent linemen. Mathis doesn't do much for me, but a two year deal with an easy out isn't ever a bad thing.

What is going to matter for the Cardinals is the money they have invested in the offensive line. You have to find low cost players to plug into the C and RG spots long term because they already have significant money tied into LT, LG, RT. Rumors are that the Cardinals like one of their PS OGs. That may be a really smart solution, but you have to have a vet option in case it doesn't work.
