Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is part of a consortium seeking to acquire a minority stake in Liverpool Football Club.
British-Indian businessman Amit Bhatia will lead the consortium, with Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin also involved.

Jeff Bezos emerges as key figure in Liverpool FC investment talks
Sky News has reported that Fenway Sports Group are “preparing to make an announcement” about the consortium later this week.
The proposed deal would see three of the world’s richest people become co-owners of Liverpool, arguably the biggest club in England.
The consortium’s investment will value the Reds at $6 billion, similar to the NBA’s Boston Celtics and the NFL’s Miami Dolphins.
Their stake in Liverpool will reportedly be just over 30 percent, even though it was previously expected to be less.
It would be Jeff Bezos’ first deal in football, while Eduardo Saverin was part of a failed takeover bid for Chelsea FC.
Their investment could be key to returning Liverpool to the top of both English and European football over the coming years.
