As Smith interfered with his layup attempt, Iguodala recalled just trying to get the ball on the glass. However, out of nowhere, he heard a loud thud as James slapped the ball against the backboard.
"All I heard was like a sonic boom. It was like, 'Boom.' I was like, 'Oh, it’s like somebody got shot,'" he remembered. "It was loud." "And I thought, because when I laid it off the glass, I’m like, 'All right, just put it on the glass.' So when I heard it, I’m like, 'All right, I’m waiting on the whistle for a goaltend.' Because I never saw him. And I was just like, 'Just put it on the glass,'" he continued.
