Former Wake Forest wing Juke Harris, one of the top players in the transfer portal, has committed to Tennessee over North Carolina and Michigan.
Harris, a 6-foot-7 sophomore who earned second-team All-ACC honors last season, chose the Volunteers after being heavily recruited by multiple high-major programs.
North Carolina head coach Michael Malone and several assistants visited Harris for an in-home meeting in Salisbury, N.C., in mid-April, but the Tar Heels eventually faded from contention as the race narrowed to Tennessee and Michigan. Predictions in recent days increasingly favored the Volunteers.
Harris is ranked the No. 3 overall player in the transfer portal by On3 and No. 6 by 247Sports.
He is coming off a breakout season with the Demon Deacons, averaging 24.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 44 percent from the field and 33 percent from 3-point range. He scored 28 points on Jan. 10 at the Smith Center against North Carolina, shooting 10-for-18 from the field, and posted a season-high 38 points at Boston College.
