Former Florida Gators guard Alijah Martin has been selected to participate in the 2026 Castrol Rising Stars showcase, which takes place Friday, Feb. 13, at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, as part of NBA All-Star 2026.
Martin was named to the NBA G League team and is the first Raptors 905 player in history to receive the honor. The G League team will participate in a four-team, three-game mini-tournament. Three other teams will be comprised of 21 NBA players — 11 sophomores and 10 rookies.
"I'm not surprised," Florida head coach Todd Golden said on Tuesday. "He's very confident, and he always backs up how he feels. He's never scared on the floor. He's going to be a great competitor, and he's not going to be afraid regardless of who he's up against. The fact that in a short period of time, he's put himself in a position to play in that game, it's just not that surprising…He was a great competitor for us last year, and I think that's a big part of who he is."
The 39th overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft, Martin has averaged 8.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.4 steals and 30.6 minutes in 21 games (all starts). He is shooting .500 (133-for-166) from the field, including .392 (47-for-120) from three-point range. The former Gator currently ranks third among rookies in scoring in the G League.
Martin earned a call-up in December, making his debut against Boston on Dec. 7 and playing again against New York two days later. He has played in eight games this month, making his biggest impact over nearly 30 minutes against Philadelphia. He scored nine points and added eight rebounds, four steals and two blocks against the 76ers.
