Algeria: Yanis Massolin to receive a call-up soon?
According to El Heddaf, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) is keeping a close watch on Yanis Massolin, the French-Algerian midfielder who is now on the national team’s radar. While an initial call-up as early as March was discussed, the Algerian body is reportedly taking a cautious approach, opting to monitor his development before making a definitive decision.
Born in France, Massolin has carved out an unconventional path, climbing from the amateur divisions to taste Ligue 1 action with Clermont, before making his mark in Belgium and Italy. This upward trajectory recently saw him hit a major milestone, officially signing with Inter Milan in February 2026, while remaining on loan at Modena to finish out the season.
Still according to the same source, the FAF is leaning towards integrating him after the 2026 World Cup, in order to assess him over a full season in Inter’s environment. This is a story to watch closely.
