Alabama infielder Jena Young (4) hits a home run double in the sixth inning during a softball game at the Women’s College World Series between Texas Tech and Alabama at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, on Monday, June 1, 2026. | NATHAN J. FISH/THE OKLAHOMAN / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images
The Crimson Tide lost seven players to graduation, but none to transfer. Two of the losses were full-time starters and a third became a starter late in the season. Alabama has picked up two transfers from D-I schools and one from juco. All things considered, the Tide got off pretty well.
GRADUATED
- DH/C Alexis Pupillo (starter)
- C Marlie Giles (starter)
- OF Kristen White (part-time starter)
- 1B/3B Abby Duchscherer
- PR Kinley Pate
- OF Larissa Preuitt
- P Alea Johnson
UPGRADE PORTAL
There are several reasons for someone to enter the portal. Among them are more homesick portal, playing time portal, money grab portal, and upgrade portal. Two of the three Bama’s acquisitions should be considered upgrade portal because they moved to a better team. The third is a more playing time portal.
- C Karlee Ford (rising Jr.) had a solid season with Iowa State and was named Second Team All-Big 12 for her efforts. She hit .345 with 14 doubles, 10 home runs, and 49 RBIs in 2026. It’s probably safe to say that she is the favorite to be the Tide’s starting catcher in 2027.
- LHP Kailey Plumlee (rising RS-Fr.) did not make a single appearance and was granted a redshirt with four years of eligibility remaining. Plumlee was stuck behind five other pitchers with only one of them graduating, plus two new hurlers coming in as freshmen next season. She will probably have more opportunities to play at Alabama.
- OF Noelani Livingstone (scholastic Jr.) played two juco seasons for Florida SouthWestern State College in Fort Myers. She was named NJCAA National Player of the Year after she hit .526 with seven home runs, 57 RBIs along with 32 stolen bases. Due to the nebulous juco/NCAA rules right now, it is unclear how many years of eligibility she will have, but it’s at least two.
- It is possible others could follow but it does not seem likely as of now.
FROSH
The Crimson Tide also have five freshmen coming in – including one with a very familiar name.
- IF Ava Briski – 4-star, Jocelyn’s kid sister
- C Torynn Slaughter – 5-star from Phoenix, AZ
- IF Liv Keiter – 4-star from Colorado
- IF Paige Stanfield – 4-star from Kansas
- OF Ava Bush – 4-star from Missouri
The NCAA roster cap is 25. At this point, Alabama will have 22 on the 2027 roster, which is right around where they usually are.
TOP TRANSFERS STILL AVAILABLE
- OF Madison Pickens (Louisville) – The Atlanta-area rising junior led the Cardinals with a .456 BA with 19 doubles, 11 HR and 74 RBI, and a solid 1.293 OPS.
- 3B Jaysoni Beachum (FSU) – 2026 First Team All-ACC, .406, 10 HR, 69 RBI.
- 1B/UTIL Tori Edwards (LSU) – 12 HR, 45 RBI, 1.019 OPS.
HOMESICK TRANSFERS
- 3B Ella Dodge – Starting third baseman moved from Tennessee to the troubled FSU Seminoles. The move seems like a downgrade, but she is from Bradenton.
- RHP Berkley Zache – It’s not a total shock she left Oklahoma since she was not getting a lot of opportunities to pitch (14 appearances and 15.1 innings). The surprise is that she chose blah Michigan (MI native) and that she impatiently left Okie after only one year.
MONEY GRAB PORTAL
- OF/DP Kasidi Pickering – There is only one reason for a three-year starter like her to leave the Sooners for Texa$ Tech. Well, maybe there’s a million ($) reasons. She is from Texas but Norman is over 100 miles closer to her hometown of Humble than Lubbock is.
- P Jayden Heavener – Two years as ace at LSU, now chasing that bag for the a-hole oil billionaires who have nothing else going on in their lives.
