Alabama basketball coach Nate Oats has spoken out on the arrest of Crimson Tide guard Aden Holloway.
In the hours after Holloway was arrested for first-degree possession of marijuana and failure to affix a tax stamp on Monday, March 16, Oats was still all smiles for his weekly appearance at Baumhower's Victory Grille for Hey Coach.
He confronted the situation head-on with Chris Stewart of the Crimson Tide Sports Network.
"Look, we've got standards in our program. We've got ways we've held our guys accountable, and we try to keep everything in house. Obviously, some of the situations, you can't. This is one of those," Oats said.

"We had to suspend him pending the investigation by the UA office of Student Conduct and we're certainly disappointed in his behavior. That being said, we still love him," Oats said.
Holloway has been "removed from campus" as the UA Office of Student Conduct investigates the matter, according to a statement from the university.
Tuscaloosa drug agents found over a pound of marijuana, as well as paraphernalia and cash when searching a residence within the 400 block of 30th East Avenue. He was arrested at 9:48 a.m. Monday and was released within the hour after settling a $5,000 bond.
"He's still our guy. We're helping him get the help that he needs and we're gonna continue to help him whatever way we can. As far as our team goes, I thought we had a great practice. We're preparing to play without him this weekend," Oats said.
Alabama embarks on its sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament run, but without Holloway, on Friday, March 20 in Tampa, Florida against Hofstra.
