Former Senegal international Habib Beye shares his thoughts on the chaotic AFCON 2025 final between Senegal and Morocco.
Four days after Senegal's triumph over Morocco (0-1 after extra time) in the AFCON 2025 final, Habib Beye offered his analysis. Speaking at a press conference this Thursday, the coach praised his country's achievement. However, he also pointed out incidents that marred the image of the match.
"There's immense joy because I've seen extraordinary scenes in my country, with the passion surrounding this trophy and the fact that we've become back-to-back African champions. The overall image of the situation—not of one team or another—these are images we don't like to see." the former Senegalese player admitted.
He was keen to emphasize that "based on Senegal's performance on the pitch, the victory is deserved," while making his stance clear:
