AFC West Squad Called Potential Fit For Kayshon Boutte Amid Trade Rumors originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The New England Patriots added Romeo Doubs and A.J. Brown this offseason, and Kayshon Boutte has been mentioned as a trade candidate.
Reports suggest that the Patriots have received calls about Boutte, who is one year away from free agency. With the additions of Brown and Doubs, Boutte figures to have a diminished role in the offense. Although he has noted that he wants to be with the Patriots and has no problem staying with the team, it may be in his best interest to play elsewhere.
“I wouldn’t mind being here," Boutte told reporters during mandatory minicamp, per Patriots insider Phil Perry. "I do want to be here."
This is his last chance to build value before hitting the open market, and it will be tough for him to be anything more than the third option for Drake Maye. Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox tabbed the Las Vegas Raiders as a potential fit for him.
"The LSU product has topped 500 receiving yards in each of the last two seasons, and at just 24 years old, he may not be close to reaching his NFL ceiling," Knox wrote on Monday. "He averaged an impressive 16.7 yards per catch in 2025 while providing a quarterback rating of 133.2 when targeted."
The Raiders have a young quarterback in Fernando Mendoza, and Boutte could be a great option for him. Even if Kirk Cousins starts the year as the starting quarterback, Boutte would provide the Raiders with a reliable set of hands. He would be the best receiver the team has, and he would really only be competing with Tre Tucker for the No. 1 wide receiver job.
