May 12—WPIAL officials on Tuesday morning decided to move the Class 3A and Class 2A track and field championships from Wednesday to Thursday, consulting with the National Weather Service.
Rain is expected for the majority of the day and evening Wednesday and prompted the move. The championships will remain at Slippery Rock University.
The first events on the track and in the jumps and throws will begin at 11 a.m. with additional events running through the early evening.
