The Michael Malone era at North Carolina is beginning to take shape, as the Tar Heels' new head coach has landed his first major addition out of the transfer portal.

Neoklis Avdalas is staying in the ACC and will join North Carolina next season. The Greece-native had a solid freshman season with Virginia Tech, averaging over 12 points per game.

It will be fascinating to see how Malone deploys Avdalas in Chapel Hill next year, as the 6-foot-9 wing has ball skills that are well served leading an offense. He averaged nearly five assists per game for Virginia Tech last season.

Of course, Malone is no stranger to having taller players running an offense, as the new UNC coach allowed Nikola Jokic to do for so many years with the Denver Nuggets.
