TOPEKA (KSNT) – Another Wildcat is heading to the transfer portal.
Abdi Bashir Jr. becomes the fourth Wildcat to depart the men’s basketball program and enter the portal.
The junior guard spent only one season in Manhattan, where he averaged 13.2 points per game and shot over 44% from beyond the arc.
Bashir appeared in only 18 games for the Wildcats in the 2025-26 season, undergoing surgery for a stress fracture in his foot in January. He did not return.
His last game was January 17 against Oklahoma State, where he scored 15 points.
Bashir had a season-high 26 points in the loss to Nebraska in November.
He joins David Castillo, Stephen Osei, and Exavier Wilson, who have also entered the portal.
Bashir spent his first two seasons of college basketball at Monmouth.
