Aaron Rodgers, who has been connected to the Pittsburgh Steelers throughout the free agency process, recently cleared the air on The Pat McAfee Show: he isn’t holding any team “hostage.”

For anyone wishing Rodgers would hurry and make his decision, he denied owing any team a commitment:

“Listen, this entire time I haven’t felt like I owed anybody some sort of any decision at any point. This is my life,” Rodgers stated. “I've been up front with them about that and said, ‘Listen, if you need to move on — by all means. Nothing but love and respect if that's the decision that needs to be made.’ But there's been no deadline, and I've talked to [Mike Tomlin] many times.”

Rodgers is correct that he doesn’t owe anyone a quick decision — after all he’s achieved, including four MVP selections and one Super Bowl.

If Rodgers chooses to play elsewhere or retire, the Pittsburgh Steelers have a solid plan B, with Mason Rudolph likely set to take the reins in 2025.
