Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, an all-women led Home Run Applesauce podcast where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space.
This week, we begin by discussing the Mets’ offense, which looked dire for a moment, but rebounded in San Francisco. We also talk about Juan Soto hitting the IL and what the lineup might look like without him, plus the brilliance of the pitching staff so far in this young season.
In the second half of the show, we talk about Jo Adell’s incredible defensive game, more instances of players getting insults and threats hurled at them because of legalized sports betting (which is a cancer), and legislation Bernie Sanders has introduced to try to keep sports franchises in their cities.
Finally, we wrap things up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise.
