A Playoff Rematch For Phoenix Rising In The Western Conference Semis

Phoenix Rising FC has an opportunity to avenge its first-round playoff exit at the hands of Swope Park last season. At Swope Park, Rising FC lost on penalties in a match that took two days to complete due to inclement weather. Didier Drogba scored in extra time to give Rising a 1-0 lead only to see Swope Park equalize late in extra time to send the match to penalty kicks. Rising would fall on penalties 4-2.

Swope Park (15-11-8) finished 7th in the Western Conference this season with 53 points. Last week, they upset No. 2 seed Sacramento Republic FC on the road, 2-1, to advance past the conference quarterfinals. Swope Park has had success in the USL Cup Playoffs, advancing to the USL Cup Final in each of the past two seasons.

Should be a good game. Wish I could go to this one.
