The world of college football recruiting is a roller coaster ride full of twists and turns. Player commitments aren't written in stone until they're...well, written in stone, and the Kentucky Wildcats have experienced the first defection from the 2027 class in athlete Bryian Duncan Jr.
Duncan is a 5'9", 160 lb running back and sometimes receiver out of Georgia. He's currently rated three stars by 247Sports and ranks as the No. 697 overall player in the composite rankings. Though undersized, he has terrific speed, and is certainly a homerun threat.
Though he committed to Kentucky back in March, Duncan still took a scheduled visit to West Virginia University this week, and was convinced to flip his commitment to them. A history of success with smaller running backs may have helped.
As for Kentucky, they recently gained commitments from running backs Kelsey Gerald and Mason Ball, which could also have factored into Duncan's decision. We wish the best of luck to Duncan with the Mountaineers, and in the future.
