The Los Angeles Rams entered the 2025 NFL Draft holding the No. 26 overall pick, but true to recent form, they opted to trade down and stockpile future assets. In a deal with the Atlanta Falcons, the Rams sent pick No. 26 and No. 101 in exchange for Atlanta’s second-rounder at No. 46, a late-round selection at No. 242, and a valuable 2026 first-round pick.

It marks the eighth time in the past nine years that the Rams have bypassed the first round, a strategy that general manager Les Snead has often embraced to maximize roster flexibility. Now, the Rams are poised to make their first selection at 46th overall, followed by their next pick at No. 90 in the third round.

Despite missing out on Round 1, Day 2 presents an opportunity for the Rams to find impact players, with several high-upside prospects still available. Here are seven players Snead and head coach Sean McVay should target as they look to bolster key areas of the roster.

CB Will Johnson, Michigan

A lockdown corner with size and physicality, Johnson has the potential to become a top-tier starter. He excels in man coverage and brings the kind of competitive toughness the Rams value in the secondary. The only concern is a knee issue that has worried some NFL teams and has been the reason why the second-team All-American slipped out of the first round.

S Nick Emmanwori, South Carolina

A versatile safety with great range and tackling ability, Nick Emmanwori could help solidify the Rams’ back end, especially with depth concerns at the position. He's also versatile enough to play a hybrid linebacker role, which is a bonus.

TE Mason Taylor, LSU

Los Angeles has long sought consistent production from the tight-end spot. Taylor, a reliable target with strong hands and solid route-running skills, could fill that gap while developing into a key piece for Matthew Stafford or his eventual successor. He could also be the future of the position after Tyler Higbee, who enters the final year of his contract.

TE prospect the Rams should 100% have their eyes on (especially if they trade back)…

Mason Taylor. His dad is Jason Taylor and his uncle is Zach Thomas. HoF blood. Easily our TE3. Doesn’t turn 21 until May. Projects as a 3-down TE. He’s 6’5, 251lbs. Underrated imo. pic.twitter.com/V43obhxHQ4

WR Luther Burden III, Missouri

One of the most explosive receivers left on the board, Burden offers dynamic playmaking ability in the slot or outside. Pairing him with Puka Nacua and Davante Adams would give the Rams a dangerous receiving trio.

DT Shemar Turner, Texas A&M

With the defensive front always a priority, Turner brings size, power, and disruptive potential along the interior. He could provide an immediate rotational presence with long-term starter upside.

LB Carson Schwesinger, UCLA

A sideline-to-sideline linebacker with a knack for finding the football, Schwesinger’s athleticism and instincts would fit well in the Rams' evolving defense.

CB Benjamin Morrison, Notre Dame

You can never have too many corners. Morrison would be another solid choice to help arguably the team's biggest need. He offers great ball skills and anticipation. His ability to read quarterbacks and jump routes makes him a natural playmaker.
