The Denver Broncos held a Community Information Meeting at La Alma Recreation Center on Thursday evening as the team continues pursuing Burnham Yard as a potential site for their upcoming new stadium.

Broncos president Damani Leech was the club's key representative at the event, and he made it clear that the team wants the project to be a place the community will enjoy beyond game days.

“Anecdotally, I want friends and family to come into Denver and ask where I should go, and everybody to say, ‘You should go to Burnham Yard,'" Leech said, via the Denver Post's Luca Evans.

Here are five quick takeaways following Thursday's meeting.

Broncos stadium plans takeaways

1. Early site map revealed: Denver unveiled an early site map that includes community open spaces and a designated tailgating area. Fans should note that it is subject to change.

2. No stadium renderings or capacity numbers yet: Leech said the team has "no timeline" for when renderings of the stadium will be released, and he noted that the team hasn't picked an architect yet. Leech also said the stadium size is "still TBD."

Our own @BKDenverSports asked president of the Broncos Damani Leech if there is any timeline on renderings being released for the new Broncos stadium at Burnham Yards:

3. Timeline for construction and stadium opening: The Broncos displayed a project schedule that estimated construction beginning early in 2027 and completing in time for the 2031 season. Such a timeline would allow the team to leave Empower Field at Mile High right after the lease expires.

️Damani Leech on the projected timeline of contruction beginning for the new Broncos stadium:

"We feel good about that timeline, but there are a number of important steps that have to happen..."#BroncosCountrypic.twitter.com/mVS13j6emx

4. Broncos project similar parking spaces: Some of the top community concerns were traffic and light rail access to the stadium. Leech said the team currently controls 7,000 parking spaces at Empower Field, and they expect to eventually have a similar number at the new stadium. The team also aims to extend an RTD rail line up and over 13th Ave., according to Evans.

5. It's still just a preferred site, for now: The Broncos continue to refer to Burnham Yard as their "preferred site" to build a stadium. There are various reasons for that, one of them being that not everyone at the site — including SRM Concrete — wants to sell surrounding real estate to the team. If plans are approved and all of the necessary land is acquired, the team will move forward.

️Damani Leech on Burnham Yards still being the "preffered sight" for the next Broncos stadium:

"We really want to respect the overall process...and make sure we get the right community input."#BroncosCountrypic.twitter.com/3qTio7wgBb

It's clear that the Broncos are still early in the process, but the ball is rolling. We could see a new stadium in Denver within the next five years.
