As the fantasy baseball season moves deeper into the summer, finding impact players on the waiver wire becomes increasingly important. Whether you’re searching for power, positional flexibility, or saves, this week’s waiver targets offer plenty of upside. Here are five players who deserve serious consideration heading into the upcoming scoring period.

The White Sox continue to be one of the surprise offensive teams in baseball, and Jacob Gonzalez could be the next player to provide fantasy value.
Before earning his promotion, Gonzalez was dominating Triple-A pitching, slashing .317 with 18 home runs and 62 RBI across just 238 plate appearances for Charlotte. Those numbers are impossible to ignore.
With Murakami sidelined, Gonzalez is expected to receive regular playing time at first base despite being eligible at second base. There is a chance he sits against some left-handed pitching, but the playing time outlook remains strong enough to make him a priority add.
Even better, fantasy managers should soon gain valuable dual eligibility, increasing his appeal in roster construction.
Many fantasy managers gave up on Colton Cowser after his brutal start to the season.
Through his first 36 games, Cowser hit just .169 and failed to leave the yard once. As a result, he was dropped in countless redraft leagues.
Now, he’s rewarding the patient managers who held on.
Over the past couple of weeks, Cowser is batting .333 with nine runs scored, four home runs, and 12 RBI. The Orioles offense has also started to wake up, helping fuel his resurgence.
With Baltimore suddenly back in the American League playoff race, Cowser looks capable of delivering meaningful fantasy production during the second half.

Yes, the strikeouts are going to be part of the package.
That said, Spencer Jones offers the kind of power-speed combination that is difficult to find on waivers this late in the season.
With Aaron Judge currently sidelined, the Yankees need offensive production wherever they can find it. Jones struggled during his first brief major league stint, but he wasted no time making an impact after returning, collecting three hits Friday night.
His elite athleticism, defensive ability, and power potential should help keep him in the lineup as long as he continues producing.
Tommy Troy has looked completely comfortable since arriving in Arizona.
The former first-round pick is batting .290 with a .372 on-base percentage through his first 13 major league games. He has already scored seven runs and launched his first home run.
Perhaps most importantly, Troy’s versatility gives him a path to regular playing time. Even when Lourdes Gurriel returns, Arizona should have little trouble finding at-bats for a player capable of contributing at multiple positions.
The combination of batting average, on-base skills, and lineup flexibility makes him an attractive pickup in all formats.
If you’re searching for saves, Yoendrys Gomez may be your best available option.
Since joining the Twins earlier this season, Gomez has converted all three of his save opportunities while establishing himself as Minnesota’s most reliable late-inning arm.
He’s allowed just one earned run over his last 11 appearances and continues to earn trust in high-leverage situations.
Closers can be volatile, but Gomez has looked the part since arriving in Minnesota. Given the Twins’ ongoing search for consistency in the ninth inning, there’s a very real chance he continues collecting saves for the foreseeable future.
For fantasy managers needing bullpen help, Gomez should be one of the top waiver priorities this week.
