The Philadelphia Eagles have completed organized team activities. Mandatory minicamp is in the books. Players will enjoy one final break before returning for the start of training camp. Then, it's 100 miles per hour. Hopefully, we're talking about a team that is still playing in February in football's biggest game.

As always, expectations are sky-high. The Eagles enter the season with one of the NFL's most talented rosters and legitimate championship aspirations, yet despite all the confidence surrounding the organization, several important questions remain unanswered.

When can we expect Jalen Hurts' next extension?

This conversation refuses to disappear. When Patrick Mahomes signed his latest extension with the Kansas City Chiefs, the announcement seemed to arrive out of nowhere. One day, there seemingly wasn't any public speculation. The next day, there was an agreement in place.

Since then, fans and media members have continued asking the same question about Philadelphia's franchise quarterback. Hurts remains one of the faces of the organization and one of the league's most accomplished signal callers. The Eagles have already shown their commitment once. The question now becomes whether another long-term extension is on the horizon and, if so, when it might arrive.

In the meantime, he doesn't seem unhappy. We've seen a ton of photos of him smiling at minicamp practice. That said, there doesn't appear to be any reason to get any rumors started.

Do the Eagles have enough edge-rushing depth?

This concern existed before Joe Tryon-Shoyinka's retirement. Jonathan Greenard has proven he can be highly productive when healthy, but health remains part of the conversation. Nolan Smith has battled injuries at times as well, placing additional importance on the development of younger players.

Fortunately for Philadelphia, Jalyx Hunt has emerged as one of the offseason's biggest success stories. That leads directly to another intriguing question...

Can Jalyx Hunt and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. push Nolan Smith and Jihaad Campbell for starting roles?

Perhaps this isn't the conversation many expected a few months ago. Hunt and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. have generated considerable buzz throughout offseason practices. Granted, those workouts have taken place without pads, making evaluations somewhat difficult. Still, both players have consistently found ways to stand out.

Whether either player ultimately overtakes Nolan Smith or Jihaad Campbell on the depth chart remains to be seen. The encouraging takeaway is that legitimate competition appears to exist. No contender ever complains about having too much depth at important positions.

Could Howie Roseman add another safety?

History suggests this question deserves attention. Roseman has repeatedly strengthened the secondary late in the roster-building process. Names such as Ronald Darby, Steven Nelson, James Bradberry, and C.J. Gardner-Johnson all come to mind.

Philadelphia's general manager has never been shy about making a move if he believes the roster can be improved. Would another safety addition really surprise anyone?

Believe it or not, this is one of those questions for which some hope is answered with a 'yes.'

How good is Makai Lemon?

There appears to be little concern about Lemon's long-term outlook. The first-round rookie looked polished in drills, but he has also been dealing with a hamstring issue. That limited some of his offseason work. That isn't ideal, but it also isn't cause for panic.

If anything, it may allow an opportunity to highlight the strengths of the rest of Philadelphia's receiving corps. The Eagles may have one of their deepest wide receiver rooms in years, giving Lemon time to develop at the proper pace.

Who is the backup quarterback?

This battle may be more interesting than many realize. Andy Dalton arrives with extensive experience and a long résumé as a starter. Tanner McKee continues to intrigue both coaches and fans, while Cole Payton remains a developmental prospect attempting to gain traction.

The outcome could have implications beyond the depth chart. If Dalton secures the backup role, questions about McKee's future and potential trade value may inevitably follow (if the Eagles are indeed yielding trade offers).

We're all still curious about Sean Mannion's offense, aren't we?

Ultimately, many of these questions lead back to the same place. The Eagles begin a new era under offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. New pieces have been added. Familiar stars remain in place. Expectations are enormous.

The defense has questions worth discussing, but the spotlight will remain fixed on the offense. How quickly Mannion's system develops, how effectively the new pieces fit together, and whether the unit can return to elite status will dominate conversations throughout camp. Fortunately for Eagles fans, answers are coming soon, or at least we hope so.
