The 2025 NBA Draft lottery odds project teams like the Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets with the best chance at the No. 1 pick and therefore the chance to grab Cooper Flagg, who could be a generational talent.
But let's take a step back for a second. Just because those three teams have the best shot doesn't necessarily mean those are the bests spots for the Duke forward.
OUR LATEST NBA MOCK DRAFT: Predicting every first round pick
So let's dive in and talk about the five teams who could be the best immediate fit for Flagg. Because, sure, he could be a cornerstone for a rebuilding team ... or he could make a contender out of one of these franchises.
A lineup with Flagg, Zion Williamson, CJ McCollum, Dejounte Murray and Herbert Jones is ... intriguing. Get Trey Murphy III in the mix, too. I would assume that the Pels wouldn't trade Zion and his big contract, with the hopes Flagg would take pressure off the oft-injured forward. If not? Zion gets traded and Flagg is the centerpiece of the team.
I guess you have to figure out how to make Flagg fit with Lauri Markkanen but this is a great problem to have. With Collin Sexton, Keyonte George and Jordan Clarkson there too, there's A LOT of offense to go around. They'd be a fun team to watch.
The Rockets have a 3.8 percent chance at No. 1, but whatever. We can dream here. The Rockets are already contenders next year on paper, and hey, maybe they trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo. But what if they get Flagg? WOW.
Joel Embiid's health is a huge question mark hanging over this franchise. They've got an aging Paul George, but they've also got some serious promise in Tyrese Maxey and Jared McCain. Adding Flagg would be nice for Sixers fans and for this roster.
Flagg and Wemby. That's it. But if you want to add to it: De'Aaron Fox, Devin Vassell and Stephon Castle. That's a heck of a core.
