San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey had a great 2025 season, as he totaled 2,126 yards from scrimmage and 17 touchdowns on his way to his fourth Pro Bowl and fifth All-Pro selection.
On Friday, McCaffrey was recognized for more than the statistics he put up, as he was named the winner of the 2026 Bart Starr Award.
The winner of the award is selected by their peers and is given to a player who exhibits outstanding character, integirty and leadership both on and off the field.
McCaffrey will officially receive the award during the Athletes in Action Super Bowl Breakfast on Feb. 7 in San Francisco ahead of the Super Bowl.
"I'm humbled and very honored. It's an awesome award, and I don't take it lightly," McCaffrey said (via. the 49ers). "I feel like the luckiest guy. I'm a part of an unbelievable team with so many great players and great guys that I get to come in to work with every day and do what I love. I appreciate being recognized by my fellow players around the league."
