49ers have best top OT duo in the NFL, per Pro Football Network

The 49ers' offensive tackle tandem is the best in the league, at least according to one metric.

Pro Football Network's OL Impact metric ranked left tackle Trent Williams and right takcle Colton McKivitz as the top offensive tackle duo in the NFL last season. The numbers from TruMedia support it: San Francisco's bookends combined to allow just seven sacks, 64 pressures and 17 quarterback hits, good for a 5.3% pressure rate.

That's a pretty clean line for a pair of tackles playing a full season's worth of snaps.

Williams, 37, has been the anchor of this offensive line for years, and 2025 was no different. McKivitz, 29, has grown into a legitimate complement on the right side. The 49ers rewarded both with new deals this offseason, as Williams signed a two-year, $50 million extension and McKivitz returned on a three-year, $45 million extension that he played well beyond in value last year.

Together, they gave quarterback Brock Purdy a clean pocket more often than not and helped San Francisco's offense stay functional even as injuries piled up elsewhere on the roster.

The 49ers have plenty of questions heading into 2026, but the offensive tackle position isn't one of them.
