49ers draft picks have 1st NFL jersey numbers, but they may not be wearing them Week 1

Rookie minicamp is underway for the San Francisco 49ers which means their draft picks officially have jersey numbers.

Reporters at the team facility sent out the numbers each of the team's 11 picks will wear at least for rookie minicamp and training camp.

Here's the list of initial numbers for each player and the 49ers player who most recently wore that number in the regular season:

• QB Kurtis Rourke, 4 (K Jake Moody)
• RB Jordan James, 29 (S Talanoa Hufanga)
• WR Jordan Watkins, 17 (QB Brandon Allen)
• WR Junior Bergen, 86 (WR Danny Gray)
• OL Connor Colby, 75 (OL Charlie Heck)
• DL CJ West, 50 (DL Khalil Davis)
• DL Mykel Williams, 98 (DL Javon Hargrave)
• DL Alfred Collins, 99 (DL Maliek Collins)
• LB Nick Martin, 45 (LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles)
• CB Upton Stout, 20 (RB Israel Abanikanda)
• S Marques Sigle, 36 (LB Curtis Robinson)

For fans eager to buy a jersey for their favorite draft pick, they may want to hold off. Players are issued numbers based on selections available on the 90-man roster. Some players will very likely ditch their initial number for one that comes available when the roster is eventually cut down to 53 after training camp and the preseason.

Our top candidates for a number change are Rourke, Bergen, Martin and Sigle. We won't officially know who will change and who won't until cuts are made.
