It's probably difficult for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings to fly under the radar anymore.
The 2020 seventh-round pick wound up leading 49ers WRs in receiving yards last season with a career-high 975 yards. He frequently held the WR1 role in an offense that saw ups and downs across its receiving corps. Despite his stellar 2025 campaign, Jennings is still considered the 49ers' most underrated player by Pro Football Focus.
It's tough to imagine Jennings is still in the 'underrated' bucket after his breakout 2024 campaign. His production as a seventh-round pick who was supposed to be the third WR on the depth chart made him a notable player in last year's NFL discourse.
Here's how PFF justified the choice:
If the argument is that Jennings should be included in a list of 49ers offensive stars, then he's underrated in that regard. Given his lack of consistency with that production though, he's not liable to get mentioned alongside Kittle and McCaffrey as the focal points of the 49ers' offense. For now, Jennings is a quality secondary offensive option. He'll have more opportunities this season to be the team's top WR depending on how Brandon Aiyuk's injury recovery goes. If he continues putting up big-time numbers, he'll quickly rise into the group of stars on San Francisco's roster.
