4-H shooting match planned in Lima

LIMA — A multi-disciplinary shooting competition is bringing more than 50 youth across Ohio together at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 16 at the Lima Sabres Shooting Association, 5090 E. Hanthorn Road.

The fourth annual Chuck Wurth Memorial Matches will feature participants competing in rifle, pistol, shotgun, muzzleloader, archery, hunting and wildlife showdowns. In addition to discipline awards, the youth will battle to make Ohio’s 2027 team competing at the 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships in Grand Island, Nebraska. The competition is one of four regional matches held this year statewide for youth to qualify for Ohio’s national team.

Registration for the event will begin at 8 a.m., with competition starting at 9:30 a.m. Community members are welcome to attend and support competitors.
