Jackson Koivun fended off Scottie Scheffler to pick up his inaugural PGA Tour win on Sunday afternoon.

Jackson Koivun only needed a few weeks to pick up his first PGA Tour win.
Now, the 21-year-old former Auburn star has already surpassed the $1 million threshold.
Koivun ran away with the 3M Open this weekend, and successfully fended off the top-ranked golfer in the world, to grab his inaugural Tour victory. Koivun posted a 5-under 66 in his final round on Sunday at TPC Twin Cities, which got him to 25-under on the week and gave him the three-shot win.
That win secured him a $1.584 million check, part of the $8.8 million purse that was up for grabs this week in Blaine, Minnesota.
Koivun entered the final round with a three-shot lead over the field, thanks to the 10-under 61 he posted on Saturday. Koivun posted a 28 on his back nine in the third round, too, which set a tournament record and got him to 20-under on the week.
But even as Scheffler made a big run to put some pressure on him — Scheffler went 8-under in his final round and entered the clubhouse down by just two — Koivun never slowed down. He held strong and finished out his bogey-free day to secure the win just 24 days after officially turning pro.
The 21-year-old, who won two national titles at Auburn and won all of the major awards this past season, turned pro after the U.S. Open. Koivun posted a T23 at Shinnecock Hills, and then finished T10 at the ISCO Championship a few weeks later.
