GREENSBORO, NC — Keegan Bradley's final round Sunday at the Wyndham Championship was reflective of his 2026 season: A little good. A little bad. A little inconsistent.
A bogey on the 18th was the final nail in the coffin of Bradley's FedEx Cup Playoff hopes, as he'll fall just a couple spots outside the top 70 to qualify for the FedEx St. Jude Championship next week in Memphis, Tennessee.
Six birdies Sunday were overshadowed by two bogeys and a double bogey as he finished with a 2-under 68 to finish at 6 under for the tournament. It followed Saturday's 1-under round that featured five birdies but four back-nine bogeys. He's projected to finish 74th in the final regular season standings.
"I played really well today and yesterday," Bradley said. "Just, I shot a couple under. Needed to shoot a lot lower obviously."
Bradley snaps a streak of 15 straight playoff appearances, which was second behind Jason Day's 18. Day, too, will miss the FedEx Cup Playoffs after missing the cut Friday.
The playoffs have gotten tougher since 2023 when the field shrank from 125 to 70, a fact noted by Bradley shortly after his round. In years past, the field shrank from 125 to 70 for the second round and down to the final 30 for the finals at East Lake in Atlanta.
The playoffs are now 70 players for the first before a cut to 50 for the second (the BMW) and 30 for the Tour Championship.
"Yeah, pretty good streak. Normally I'd be going on to the Playoffs in years past right now," he said. "So, you know, yeah, it's only 70 make the Playoffs for some reason. Like I said, any other year I'd be in the first couple, so it's tough. I wish I just played a little better at the beginning of the year, we wouldn't be in this position."
It's been a busy couple years for Bradley, who captained the U.S. at last year's Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black. He'll serve as an assistant captain this year at the President's Cup. He's unsure yet if he'll play any events during the FedEx Cup Fall season.
Bradley scored six top 25s in 2026 but never finished inside the top 10. A T-21 at the Masters kickstarted a run of three top-19 finishes in six events but he never could rebound from a tough start in which he missed three cuts in his first five events.
"It was a tough year. It's been a tough like year and a half," Bradley said. "I'm looking forward to getting home and resetting and coming out next year a little fresher maybe. I got off to such a terrible start this year. Next year hopefully will be better."
