Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt appeared during the FIFA World Cup halftime show as their characters from the Apple TV+ show "Ted Lasso."
The pair appeared as the titular character and "Coach Beard," respectively, to "substitute" signer Justin Bieber into the show.
Hunt held up a substitute board with "JB" in place of jersey numbers and a "BELIEBE" sign taped to it before Sudeikis told Bieber "go out there, don't be nervous, nobody's watching."
The critically acclaimed and commercial smash hit show follows the exploits of Lasso, an American college football coach, who is brought over to the English Premier League to coach fictional club AFC Richmond. Lasso began as a character in promotional videos for NBC's coverage of the Premier League in 2013.
The show will return for its fourth season on Aug. 3 following a three-year gap from its Season 3 finale.
The set-piece was a part of a 12-minute show that included Madonna, the Muppets, BTS and Shakira. It is the first time a World Cup Final has included a halftime show. The first half of the championship game between Argentina and Spain entered the break sitting at a 0-0 draw following a nervy opening frame.
