If there's one thing you have to give credit to Victor Wembanyama for following the San Antonio Spurs' historical NBA Finals meltdown, it's that he's not lacking confidence. Following the New York Knicks' incredible 29-point comeback victory in Game 4, the Spurs find themselves staring down a daunting 3-1 deficit in the 2026 NBA Finals. Despite the crushing 107-106 loss, capped off with OG Anunoby's wild last-second tip-in, Wembanyama is not backing down.

When asked about his team's chances of rallying from the series deficit, Wembanyama offered a boldly confident assessment of the current state of the matchup and whether the Spurs can rally back from the 3-1 deficit.

"Everybody knows we're gonna do it," Wembanyama said. "I think it'd be a mistake to waste our energy on multiple games. It's one game at a time."

His response has sparked immediate debate on social media, with some fans calling the comments a legitimate "hot take," while others praised the Spurs star for his confidence even after the brutal ending to Game 4.

Regardless of how you feel, Wembanyama's approach to the situation is really the only one a player can take, and his positioning and level of confidence are what Spurs fans hope will be a widespread belief in the locker room.
