The NFL will unveil the complete schedule for the 2026 season later this week. We know the Super Bowl defending champion Seattle Seahawks will open the regular season on Thursday, September 9. We're still awaiting their opponent.
Despite that, we know who the Seahawks' opponents will be in 2026. We're simply awaiting the Week 1-18 order (17 games and a bye week). To celebrate NFL schedule release week, we've reminded Seahawks fans of the three toughest opponents on Seattle's schedule.
Everyone expects Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs to enjoy a bounce-back season after enduring a difficult campaign in 2025. Recent Super Bowl champions will meet in this showdown and the Chiefs aren't exactly a familiar opponent for the Seahawks. Hopefully the Mahomes-Sam Darnold meeting gets the primetime treatment.
The Denver Broncos arguably should have been the Seahawks' Super Bowl LX opponent. They unfortunately lost starting quarterback Bo Nix for the AFC Championship Game to injury, leading to the New England Patriots winning a fairly game (and boring) game. The matchup that perhaps should have been will occur between the Seahawks and Broncos.
The Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams project as the two fiercest contenders for the NFC West division title for a second consecutive season. The Rams strengthened their secondary this offseason, adding cornerbacks Jaylen Watson and Trent McDuffie in their effort to catch up to the Seahawks. As per usual, divisional foes will meet twice during the regular season.
